We have driven several times overland to holiday in Bulgaria. This was one of our best experiences and we would recommend it wholeheartedly. However, you may have a little less time and prefer to fly to your Bulgarian holiday! The cheapest flights are to Sofia with coach transfer from there to your bulgarian holiday destination.
There are many flights to Varna (40 mins from Sarnino Villa and Vasilevo Old Schoolhouse Hotel) and Bourgas (30 mins from Sunny Beach holiday apartments) from a large variety of regional airports.

 The cheapest airline tickets for your Bulgarian holiday are always available to those who book very early, or alternatively take the risk and book within the last week!

During the winter months, flights to Varna and Bourgas are less frequent. However, Wizzair (Sofia and Bourgas) and Bulgaria Air should provide you with some good prices.
We have on several occasions, winter and summer, flown very cheaply to Sofia (around £70 return) and caught the coach from there to our holiday apartment on the coast (approximately £16 return). Coaches are fully equipped with air conditioning and entertainment and run from approximately 0530 hrs from the bus station (aftogare) in Sofia. every hour or so.
